Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Community Interest Company?

A CIC is a special type of limited company that exists to benefit the community rather than private shareholders. We are regulated by the Regulator of Community Interest Companies and our assets are legally locked for community use.

How is my money protected if I donate?

As a CIC with an asset lock (Article 3 of our constitution), any funds you donate cannot be used for private gain. All assets must be used for community benefit or transferred to another asset-locked body.

Can anyone become a member?

Membership is open to those approved by the Directors. Applications must be made in writing. As per our Articles, every member is also a Director, so membership carries real governance responsibility.

How do I apply to volunteer?

Simply complete the contact form on this page, select "I'd like to volunteer" as your reason, and tell us a little about yourself and the skills you can offer. We'll be in touch to discuss opportunities.

Are Directors paid?

Under Article 24, Directors may receive remuneration as determined by the board, but this is not for private gain โ€” it reflects fair compensation for services. The CIC remains bound by its not-for-profit constitution.

How do I access your annual accounts?

As required by the Companies Acts, we submit annual reports and accounts to both Companies House and the CIC Regulator. These will be publicly accessible once filed. Contact us for further information.
